Who Was Nelson Mandela?

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (July 18, 1918 to December 5, 2013) was a nonviolence anti-apartheid activist, politician and philanthropist who became South Africa’s first black president from 1994 to 1999. Answer:

Nelson Mandela was a South African leader who was tried for treason by the White South African government. He and seven other leaders were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1964, for daring to oppose the apartheid regime in his country. He spent the next 28 years in Robben Island, South Africa's most dreaded prison.
