Some points on pigment of rhodophyceae are as follows:-

1. Chlorophyll a and chlorophyll d is found in them.

2. β cartone is found in them.

3. Red colured and blue coloured phycobilins are seen.

4. If we talk about pigment then they are almost similar to blue algae.

5. They are found in lighted regions which is very close to the water.

6. Also seen in the depth of the ocean where just little light may reach.

7. Just few xanthophylls are present in them.

8. Scientific name of rhodophyceae is rhodophyta.
