Prashasti (praśasti for sanskrit for praise) inscriptions are euologistic inscriptions issued by an Indian ruler from 1st millennium CE onwards. Written in form of poetry or ornate prose,the prashastis were generally composed by the court poets.........

Prashastis:

Prashastis are special kind of inscriptions on stones, wall of temple, pillars in the praise of king and is a Sanskrit word which means “in praise for”. Prashastis are glowing praises of kings and rulers, and were written by the poets of that time. A Prashasti composed by his court poet Ravikirti is the chief source of information about him. Prashastis give information about the king and his reign. Many prashastis have found in India.
