The violence happened more and more often in june and july of 1794, a period called la grande terreur which ended 27 july,1794
when several important leaders were executed.

Maximillain Robespierre was the leader of France at that time. 
All those who were seen as the enemy of the state were put in prison for no reason. (mostly nobles). 
Meat and Bread were Rationed 
Peasants were forced to transport their grains to cities and sell them at fixed rates.     
The use of more expensive floor was forbidden all citizens were required to eat plain floor. 
Churches were shut down and barracks were opened instead of them.
