A SHG (self help group) is a community based group with 10-20 members.

They usually consist of women from about similar type of social and economic backgrounds.

They all voluntarily come together to save small sums of money, on a regular basis, to save a huge amount of money and to develop them selves in future, by opening shops,etc...

There is also a system in which they give loans to their team members with some terms and conditions.
