what do you know about tragic life of Milicent
Answers
Dame Millicent Fawcett was a powerhouse in the fight for women’s rights. At the height of the movement in Great Britain, she was a leading voice calling for change, demanding full suffrage for women throughout the United Kingdom. Before she turned 45, she was named president of the National Union of Women’s Societies (NUWSS), a non-violent organization uniting women’s groups throughout the U.K. As an activist, Fawcett clearly understood the power that voting would provide. At the same time, however, she also realized that suffrage alone would not be sufficient to bring about full gender equality. As a result, she fought for women’s rights in all aspects of life, targeting sexist practices in the business world, the courtroom, and throughout society. Her many victories for women continue to influence British society and politics to this very day.
