some people study for the sake of marks or frades or degrees. the quote says that we shouldnt study just because we were told to. we should study because the knowledge we have gives us power. we should study because even if someone takes away our everything they will bot be able to take away our knowledge and this knowledge will help us to start from scratch. we should study because it emhamces us or makes us better. we should study because it helps us grow

It basically means that study in a way it actually benefits you in later and present life! Don't take is as a load/pressure! You ought to love and understand the topics and the inner essence, just not mug them up for getting marks on exam papers..
