Hi mate,

Ur Answer is here,

The strength of H2O2 is defined by two ways:
1.) Percentage strength : This tells about the percentage of pure hydrogen peroxide in the solution. Like, 3% H2O2 means, 3mL of pure hydrogen peroxide is present in 100 mL of solution.
2.) Volume strength : This tells about the release of oxygen by 1 mL of hydrogen peroxide solution.  Like, 10 volume of  H2O2 means, 1 mL of this solution will release 10 mL of oxygen. 15 volume of  H2O2 means 1 mL of this solution will release 15 mL of oxygen and so on.

15 volume \[{H_2}{O_2}\] solution means \[1\,ml\] of this solution will give \[15\,ml\] of oxygen.

Explanation:

  • The strength of a solution gives the amount of solute present in oen litre of the solution.
  • There are two ways to determine the strength of Hydrogen peroxide (\[{H_2}{O_2}\]). They are:
  1. Percentage strength
  2. Volume strength
  • Percentage strength gives the amount of hydrogen peroxide present in \[100\,ml\] of solution.
  • On the other hand, volume strength refers to the volume of oxygen released at N.T.P when \[1\,ml\] of the sample of hydrogen peroxide is decomposed.
  • Therefore, 15 volume \[{H_2}{O_2}\] solution means \[1\,ml\] of this solution will give \[15\,ml\] of oxygen.
