Balanced diet is the diet consisting of the proper quantities and proportions of foods needed to maintain health or growth.

Carbohydrate is a type of sugar and most of the food we eat contains them. The brain uses these simple sugars as its main energy source.  That is why children need carbohydrates to stay alert and active throughout the day.

Protein is important for building, maintaining, and repairing the tissues in our body. That’s why it is important to eat a wide variety of protein foods each day.
