We have been given a question and we need to answer it appropriately.

The question given to us is that what is precipitation.

A precipitation reaction is a type of reaction which produces a precipitate after the reaction is over.

For example Na2SO4 + BaCl ---> BaSO4 (white precipitate) + 2NaCl.

After this reaction is over a white precipitate can be seen at the bottom of the apparatus.
