You can have redox reactions too ( for example the reaction between Na2S2O3 and HCl yields ,among other things ,sulfur which is insoluble)

A precipitation reaction is a reaction , in which an insoluble (or low solubility) product is formed.
Eg:
2KCl (aq)+ Pb(NO3)2 (aq)= PbCl2 (s) + 2KNO3(aq)
PbCl2 is a white precipitate
Co(NO3)2 (aq)+ 2NaOH(aq) = Co(OH)2(s) +2NaNO3
Co(OH)2 is a pink precipitate
Eg:
2KCl (aq)+ Pb(NO3)2 (aq)= PbCl2 (s) + 2KNO3(aq)
PbCl2 is a white precipitate
Co(NO3)2 (aq)+ 2NaOH(aq) = Co(OH)2(s) +2NaNO3
Co(OH)2 is a pink precipitate
