Bases which are soluble in water creating a complete homogenous mixture are known as alkalis. All of the bases are not alkalis but all alkalis are bases.

A base which is soluble in water is called an alkali. All alkali are bases but all bases are not alkali since all are not soluble in water. Example of alkali are na2o, k2o, naoh, koh.
