What do you mean by Ammeter or Voltmeter?Write its units.

In voltmeter the shunt resistance is connected in series connection with the galvanometer but in ammeter the shunt resistance is connected in parallel connection with the galvanometer.

Ammeter is a machine used to measure current in ampere and it is always connected in series.
Voltmeter is used to measure voltage and it is always connected parallel to the circuit.
