It is a process of forming thick oxide layer on aluminium articles .

=》 What is the use of thick oxide layer ?

=》 The thick oxide layer protect aluminum from further 'oxidation' or we can say 'corrosion' . It will cut the contact between oxygen and the metal that is aluminum.

Here are the terms which will help you understand it better.

● Corrosion :- It is process in which a metal is atacked by the atmosphere and develops a layer.

♤ Example = 2Cu + O2 = 2CuO

● Oxidation:- it is process in which a substance gains oxygen or loses hydrogen.

♧Example:- 2CuO + H2 = 2Cu + H2O
