Artificial selection is a method of selecting the parents for breeding wherein the parents are chosen depending upon their ability to possess desirable traits (quality,quantity,vigor).Such parents are made to breed to produce organisms of greater vigor and high economic value.

Advantage:

Desirable traits can be manifested in the offspring

Disadvantage:

May lead to mutation in the offspring
