Atomicity is the number of atoms present in
one molecule of the element. For example, in
one molecule of oxygen, two atoms are
present, so atomicity of oxygen is two.
Similarly atomicity of nitrogen, hydrogen,
chlorine is two.
In one molecule of ozone, three atoms of
oxygen are present, so atomicity of ozone is

Hi friend,
The number of atoms constituting a molecule is known as it's atomicity . For ex. the atomicity if oxgen is diatomic because it has 2 atoms in it , the atomicity of sulphur is polyatomic because it has 8 atoms in it.
