What do you mean by average speed? A body moves along a straight path of 100m long.
The first half of distance is covered at a speed of 5m/s and next half at speed of 2.5m/s.
Find the average speed of the body.

Answer:

Given 100 m.

So distance travel in first half is 100/2=50

Second half similar 50

Average speed = total distance / total time.

50+50/ T1+T2.

T1= 50/5=10 sec

T2=50/2.5=20. Put T1 & T2 in above.

50+50/10+20=100/30=3.3333 m/s..

Thank you
