Mapping occurs from the requirements to the end product is called as Forward Trace-ability.
On the other hand, when Mapping occurs from the end product back to the requirements is called as backward trace-ability.
Utilizing both the backward and forward trace-ability is known as bidirectional trace-ability.
When the needs are managed well to test-cases & test-cases to defects & vice versa then nothing will be missed in testing process
