Balanced diet is that diet which contains all nutrients (macro and micro) like carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals etc. in correct proportion for efficient working of the body.

It is intake of appropriate type and adequate amount of food to supply energy and to support growth and development to ensure good health of an individual. Balanced diet contains all nutrients  (macro and micro)  in sufficient quantity and it fulfil the needs of body.

Balanced diet is divided into three parts :

  • Energy yielding food
  • Bodybuilding food
  • Defensive food
