HEYA....!!!
The iron that is obtained from blast furnace containing 4 % carbon and many other impurities like sulphur, phosphorus, silicon and manganese in small amounts is known as pig iron. Cast iron, on the other hand is made by melting pig iron with scrap iron and coke using hot air blast. It has a slightly lower carbon content (about 3% ) than pig iron and is extremely hard and brittle.
hope it helps :)
