Catalyst promoter is something which is when added in a reactant gives out a better product which is useful

For ex - C2H4 + Ni = C2H6

Here Ni is used as a Catalyst in conversion of oil to fats.

Catalyst poison means something is added to a product to make it poisonous or to prevent it from consumption.

For ex - alcohol + methanol or CuSO4 = poisonous product.

This will coagulate the protoplam of cell in the same way an egg is coagulated.

Hope this helps☺☺
