1)A cell reference refers to a cell or a range of cells on a worksheet and can be used in a formula so that Microsoft Office Excel can find the values or data that you want that formula to calculate. In one or several formulas, you can use a cell reference to refer to: ... Data on other worksheets in the same workbook.

2)There are several different styles of referencing:

APA.

MLA.

Oxford.

Harvard.

Chicago.

3)Excel displays the #VALUE! error when it finds spaces, characters, or text in a formula where it is expecting a number. Excel requires formulas to contain numbers only and won't respond to formulas associated with numbers, so it will show you an error is if you've included anything else.
