1.Challenge of expansion is faced by many established democracies.It involves applying the basic principles of democracy to all the regions ,different social groups and various institutions.

2.Ensuring greater power to local governments extension of federal principles to all the units of federation ,inclusion of women and minority groups etc fall under this challenge.

3.Most of the established democracies including India and other democracies like the US face this challenge.
