What do you mean by code of conduct ? How does it controls the activity of political parties and candidates?

Code of conduct is set of do's and don'ts by Election commission.

• If a contender don't follow or aggravate the model code of conduct, Election Commission can take appropriate action. so it reign the unruly elements of election.
• it provides a moral set of expectations.
• it creates a level play for all.
• Power of election commission to punish the violator put pressure on contender to stick to the rule of law.
