Hyee! !!!

Here is the answer

A solution in which the size of solute particles is intermediate between those in true solution and suspension.

For Ex: Soap Solution,Starch solution, milk,Blood, ink etc.

Properties
1) They appear to be homogeneous but actually they are heterogeneous when observed under microscope.

2)They are not perfectly transparent,it is somewhat translucent.

3)The particles cannot be seen by naked eyes or microscope.

4)The particles do not settle on keeping.

5)The particles cannot be separated by filtration.

6)The particles are big enough to scatter light.

Hope this helped you

Hi!

Colloids are the heterogeneous mixtures in which the size of solute particles is intermediate between particles of solution and of suspension.

Properties of colloids-:

• They are heterogeneous mixtures but sometimes seem to be homogenous.

•Size of particles are between 1nm and 100nm.

•They are quite stable but sometimes they can settle down when kept un-disturbed for long.

•Particles are big enough to scatter beam of light which becomes visible when it passes through it. The best Tyndall effect id shown in it.

• When seen under the microscope , the particles become visible and they show Brownian movement.

• Particles are not big enough to be filtered by ordinary filter paper. A special technique called CENTRIFUFATION is used for separating them.

•It is generally opaque.

Hope it helps...!!!

nobel: But colloid is homo mixturegeneous mixture.
