Communication is an act of transferring message from the sender to the receiver through a medium or channel.

Explanation:

There are many ways in which we communicate:

  • Spoken or Verbal Communication, which means face-to-face or through telephone, radio or television and other media.
  • Non-Verbal Communication, covers body language, gestures, how we dress or act, where we stand. There are certain ways through we communicate (perhaps even unintentionally) with others. For example, the tone of voice can give ideas to emotional state, while the hand signals or gestures can add to a spoken message.
  • Written Communication, which involves letters, e-mails, social media, books, magazines, the Internet and other media. Earlier, there were a comparatively small number of writers and publishers but today, we can all write and publish our thoughts online, which has led to an explosion of information and communication possibilities.
  • Visualizations: The graphs, charts, maps, logos and other visualizations can also communicate messages.
