complex salt. A salt that contains two different types of metal atoms, one of which does not ionize when in solution. Mercury iodide (HgI 2) is a complex salt.

➡️Those molecular salt which are stable in solid state but they do not ionise 100% in aqueous solution and do not give test of all type of ion present.
