Conservative forces are those for which work done depends only on initial and final points.

Example- Gravitational force, Electrostatic force.

Actually forces associated with conservative force fields are called conservative forces

Only it is defined by physicians and not any actual concept in real world

Any force field which performs no work or does zero net work on a particle moving in the force field on a closed path

Example of conservative force fields are :-

(1)Gravitational field

(2)Spring mass systems

(3)Electric field

(4)Magnetic field

(5)Elastic force fields like in an elastic string

Only two things are important to note :-

(1)conservative force always associate potential energy with them

No other force or non conservative force like friction associates potential energy

(2)work done depends on initial and final position of particle

(3)work done in closed path is always zero
