Conventional Signs are used for representing various features which are depicted in the map and not drawn to scale.
The three types of conventional signs are:
1) Point symbols which are used to depict dipping tanks, trigonometrical beacons or buildings.
2) Line symbols which are used to indicate roads, railways, telephone and power lines.
3) Area symbols showing orchards, pans, cultivation.
