when metal is exposed to the air water moist and acid etc for some times a thin layers of oxide is formed it is called rusting or corrostion
it can be prevented by oiling ,painting ,galvanisation, greasing ,tin plating and alloying

CORROSION:- THE PROCESS IN WHICH METALS ARE REACT WITH THEIR MOISTURE OR ACID THIS IS KNOWN AS CORROSION THIS IS OXIDATION OF METAL BY OXYGEN OF AIR.
RUSTING:-WHEN AN IRON COMES IN CONTACT WITH AIR OR MOISTURE IT GETS COVERED WITH RED BROWN SUBSTANCE CALLED RUST AND THIS PROCESS IS CALLED RUSTING OF IRON
PREVENTATIONS:-1) WE SHOULD PAINT THE METAL THAT IT COULD NOT CAPTURE THE ANY RUST
2) IT SHOULD NOT KEEP THE THINGS WHICH CAN GET CRORE OR REST THAT THING SHOULD NOT BE KEPT IN OPEN SO THAT IT COULD NOT COME IN TRAP OF AIR MOISTURE
