Cranial nerves are those that arise from the brain whereas spinal nerves are the nerves that come from the spinal cord. Cranial and spinal nerves together consitute the PNS or the Peripheral Nervous System.
They are connected to the muscle that do the movement based on the information sent through these nerves. Example of cranial nerves is the nerve that connects brain to eyeballs. The nerves that connect the spinal cord to the muscles in arms are examples of spinal nerves.

There are 12 pair of cranial nerves in hummans .they arise from brain or lead to the brain .they are sensory ,motor and some are mixed.also known as cerebral nerves
and 31 pair of nerves arise or lead to spinal cord called spinal nerves .all these nerves are mixed having fibres of both sensory and motor neurons.
