Crop rotation is the practice of growing a series of dissimilar or different types of crops in the same area in sequenced seasons. It helps in reducing soil erosion and increases soil fertility and crop yield.

The definition of fallow is inactive. A piece of land that is normally used for farming but that is left with no crops on it for a season in order to let it recover its fertility is an example of land that would be described as fallow.

Answer:

Crop Rotation: It is growing a series of different types of crops in the same area in specific seasons. Example: Growing potatoes and beetroots together in one patch of land.

Importance: It helps in maintaining soil structure and nutrients present in the soil, as growing only one type of crop on a land can decrease the nutrient level in soil. By planting more than one type of crop, it ensures all the nutrients in the soil helps the different crops accordingly, without any nutrient being wasted.

Fallowing: Plowing and tilling of the land and leaving it unseeded [ not growing anything ] for the nutrient replenishing of the soil is called Fallowing.
