If there is a polynomial, the power of variable which contains maximum value is called degree of the polynomial.
For example,
x⁴+x³-x²+6
in this,degree is 4.
6 — in this degree is zero.Because degree of any constant is 0.

Step-by-step explanation:

Highest power of x in polynomial p(x)

It is of three types

1. Linear- In this degree is 1. ax + b is the general form.

2. Quadratic- In this degree is 2. ax² + bx +c is the general form where a ≠ 0.

3. Cubic- In this degree is 3. ax³ + bx² + cx + d is the general form where a ≠ 0.
