Democracy is a form of government that allows people to choose their rulers. it is the government of the people, for the people and by the people. Features :- (i) Only leaders elected by people rule the country. (ii) People have the freedom to express their views.

• In Democracy the government is elected by the people of that region.

• The representatives are chosen by conduction of a free and fair elections.

• The citizens are provided with certain basic rights.

• All are equal before the law in democracy.

• All the citizens have the power to  criticize any policies or law made by the elected government.

• In democracy the final decision making power rests in the hands of the citizens.
