Dialysis is the process of separation of particles in a liquid on the basis of difference in their ability to pass through a membrane.
There are various types of dialysis.
These definitions are from my notebook in Chemistry.
Dialysis is also a process of removing excess of water, solutes and toxins from the blood in those whose native kidneys have lost ability to perform the functions in a natural way. These definition is from my notebook in Biology.
