Dual Rule means diarchial political system.

  • Dual rule system is introduced in Bengal, when administration of Bengal was divided in two parts i.e. Diwani and Nizamat.
  • In the system of Diwani, Diwani rights were given to Company to collect revenue of Bengal.
  • Nizamat, means administration rights that was right to administer of a region. This right was given to Nawab of Awadh.
  • This system of dual rule in Bengal was introduced by Robert Clive.
  • This system was turned out to be disastrous for the people of Bengal.
