When you pass current through a coil a field gets formed around it following the Maxwells thumb rule and this induces a current in the near by coil, called the induction current.

This is usually visible in transformers where the primary winding induces a current in the secondary windings based on the equation, V1/N1 = V2/N2.

V1 and V2 are primary and secondary voltages, N1 and N2 are primary and secondary turns.

NB: Maxwell’s thumb rule is if you point your thumb in the direction of the current then the field then the index finger points to the direction of the field formed.
