This force is attractive in nature if both charges are of opposite sign and this force is repulsive in nature if both charges are same in sign. Electrostatic force between two point charges 'q1' and 'q2' seperated by a distance 'r' is given by :-

F = K×q1×q2/(r)^2

where k = 9× 10^9 N-m2/C2.
