  • Yoga is an optimistic experience for the body, mind and soul. Yoga is modest things like movement, breathing, concentration and relaxation and a lot about contortion.

  • According to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, there is an eight-fold path or eight elements leading to liberation called the ‘Ashtanga Yoga System’ or ‘Eight Limbs of Yoga in which the word ‘ashta’ means ‘eight’ and ‘anga’ means ‘limb’.

The 8 Elements Or Limbs Of Yoga Are:-

  • 1. YAMA which includes Restraints, moral disciplines or moral vows
  • 2. NIYAMA which includes Positive duties or observances
  • 3. ASANA which includes Posture
  • 4. PRANAYAMA which includes Breathing Techniques
  • 5. PRATYAHARA which includes Sense withdrawal
  • 6. DHARANA which includes Focused Concentration
  • 7. DHYANA which includes Meditative Absorption
  • 8. SAMADHI which includes Bliss or Enlightenment.
