Endothermic reaction is that reaction in which energy is taken from environment.whereas the exothermic reaction is that in which energy is released.So during respiration energy is released so,called as exothermic reaction.

exothermic reaction : The chemical reaction in which the energy is released is called exothermic reaction.

endothermic reaction :The chemical reaction in which the energy is absorbed is called endothermic reaction..

And, respiration considered as exothermic reaction because energy is released from this process .glucose combine with oxygen present in our cells to form carbon dioxide and water with energy. hope it will help you
