Eutrophication is the state when plant bodies start growing on the surface of any water body.

This generally seen in stagnant water bodies like lakes, when the water body becomes rich in nutrients, eutrophication starts.

It is also known as the natural aging of lake which initially turns it into a bog and then into a land.
