What do you mean by exothermic and endothermic reactions? Give examples.​

Exothermic reaction :- The reaction in which heat is give out among with product is called exothermic reaction.

Eg. NaO + H20 ------- Na(OH)2

Endothermic reaction :- The reaction in which heat is aborsbed is called endi thermic reaction . Eg.

AgCl --------- Ag +Cl

  • exothermic reaction - it's a type of combination reaction where large amount of heat is evolved. in other language we can say, in this type of reaction, heat is released along with the products after reaction. this is known as exothermic reaction.

example :- respiration in human body.

  • endothermic reaction - in endothermic reaction, heat is absorbed from the surroundings during the reaction to maintain it's temperature.

example - melting of ice.
