what do you mean by exothermic reactions ?? give examples

Harshii47: release of energy in form of light or heat
pihu136: thanks
Harshii47: 2H2 (g) + O2 (g) → 2H2O (g)
ΔH = −483.6 kJ/mol of O2
Harshii47: needless bro
pihu136: thanks bro

Those reaction in which heat energy is released are known as exothermic reaction ...
Mostly combination reaction are exothermic in nature ...
ex..C + O2 = CO2 + heat

Exothermic reaction is a chemical reaction which releases heat. It gives net energy to its surrounding. That is energy is needed to initiate the reaction is less than the energy release.
