The forces which hole details together are a strong intermolecular forces like hydrogen bonding or dipole-dipole interaction. Due to this strong intermolecular forces the polymer exchange and fibrous Polymers are closely packed.

The close packing in fibrous Polymers impart the following characteristics to such polymers :

  • crystalline nature
  • sharp melting point
  • high tensile strength
  • high modulus
