What do you mean by flaccid and erect? This is for my exam preparation . I am preparing for entrance for BSc reproductive medicine

Flaccid = (of part of the body) soft and hanging loosely or limply, especially so as to look or feel unpleasant.

Erect = rigidly upright or straight

For a more specific answer, it can be safely said that in general, the organ is flaccid and is used for urinary excretion without any difficulties, but for copulation, it has to pour the gametes near cervix via birth canal, for which, rigidity is required for lesser discomfort and safer deposition.
