Protein test
place a piece of hard boiled egg white in a test tube.Add a few drops of dilute nitric acid just to cover the food.Heat the test tube gently,then rinse off the acid with water and add ammonium hydroxide . You would note a colour change - first from white to yellow and then( after adding ammonium hydroxide)
from yellow to orange
