Answer: A freely falling body is said to be one which is travelling in vertically downward direction in free space under the influence of the force of gravity only.

Distance traveled by a freely falling body is related to the time taken by the following relation :

 T = \sqrt{\frac{2H}{G}}

Where T is time taken, H is the distance traversed and g is the acceleration due to gravity.
