Gigantism is caused by the oversecretion of Growth hormone by pitutary gland(master gland) located in the brain.

Deficiency of the same hormone is known as Dwarfism.

Growth hormone(GH) or somatotropin hormone(STH)  is secreted from the anterior part of pituitary gland.

when this growth hormone is secreted in excess amount it results in gigantism. It is a deficiency of growth hormone secretion before puberty where height of a person varies from 7 to 8 feet. It is very rare case.
