Genetically modified crops (GM crops) are plants used in agriculture, the DNA of which has been modified using genetic engineering methods. In most cases, the aim is to introduce a new trait to the plant which does not occur naturally in the species.

GM crops,or Genetically Modified crops are plants whose DNA has been modified using various techniques of genetic engineering.DNA of these plants is modified to impart them characteristics that are not 'Naturally' present in them.such characteristics include resistance to pest and diseases,longer shelf life, tolerance to various abiotic stresses; to name a few.
