What do you mean by gold number of haemoglobin is 0.03 ?

the minimum amount of protective colloids in milligrams which prevents a color change from red to violet of 10ml gold solution by the addition of 1ml of 10% NaCl solution

this means 0.03 mg of haemoglobin should be added in 10 cm standard gold son (0.0053%-0.0058%) to prevent it from turning to blue( from red) upon the addition of 1cm of a 10 %solution of sodium chloride
